Spooky Cookies

For a smooth icing look just pipe an edge and fill in with thin royal icing. You can look up "flooding icing".

Bishop's Wife

My friends husband just became the bishop in our church. This is an unpaid service and done in addition to employment. Sometimes us wives need to be reminded that we serve and give our time and dedication because we love our Heavenly Father and His children. This is a gift basket to help her remember, on those long days, why she does it.
From left to right and top to bottom. Tags to go with gifts. Hug Kisses Candy, Frozen Dinner or resturant gift card, magic eraser, sparkling cider, book or magazine, journal, scripture pencils and tissue box.

Team gifts

We are in the final weeks of my High School girls sports team. I wanted to get them something small, and inexpensive :), for the banquet. After digging through pinterest this is what I decided on.
Our school colors are orange and black. This is the small jewerly box wrapped.

I used the cute name idea on this site  http://starsandsunshine.com/2013/03/wire-bracelets/   for the name tags. I liked the 20 gage wire though instead of the 18 she suggested. It was too flimsy.
My daughter loves these types of bracelets so I made a set for each girl. This site showes how to tie the adjustable knot.   honestlywtf.com
Hoping they love them or at least don't hate them...

Harry Potter Murder Mystery Lunch

I planned a Harry Potter Murder Mystery lunch for my family. It was so fun! Because it was lunch, I kept it simple and didn't want to spend any $!

 Follow the spiders...

Floating candles from paper rolls and led lights

 Personalized wands
Owls delivering the lunch invite mail were found outside their bedroom doors in the morning.

 The wands

We had a mystery lunch because Hogwarts Dinner Hall was in chaos because of a murder. The kids wrote out their 3 course meal in the menu and only ate or used the things in that course. Tom had to eat his macaroni with a straw and Emma with her fingers because they didn't get a fork in that course. Hahaha!
While we ate we solved the murder with a game of Harry Potter "Clue". Basicly clue with Harry Potter suspects, weapons and crime scenes but without a game board. I had hid the gold snitch in the house and the person that caught the snitch got a free clue. We had fun and the best part was that we could play the game and eat crazy lunch with me participating since I could mix up the menu and clue cards.
The letter and invites, found on pinterest http://justsweetandsimple.blogspot.com/2011/07/harry-potter-party.html. She threw an awesome party! Tom and I are going to have an adult version of the fun we had with the kids and use more of her decor ideas.

Menu front

Inside the menu. We wrote what we wanted then ate in order. No utensiles could carry over into another course. We had lunch so Macaroni, chips, strawberries, raspberries, snap peas, lemon petites, ice-cream, pretzels and cow cheese, straws, spoons and knives.
I made Happy Potter "Clue" game cards. ( Like the game Clue)

I made books for everyone to keep their mystery cards in so what they knew could remain secret. I just used awesome pictures from pinterest.
We had a great time. I am looking forward to the adult repeat.

Pinterest tries

The kids made popcicles with candy. It was a toss up. The gummy candy worked but only half the kids liked frozen candy. The skittles were gross. The popcicles looked cool though.
Copied some awesome dad on pinterest. Fun photos with sidewalk chalk. We will do more.

Summer Fun Activities

For summer I put lots of activities in a bucket that the kids could do when they're bored. They are also taking turns choosing/making any recipe or food craft they choose.
The summer list for our family. They get smiley faces next to them everytime we do one.

It includes: back yard camping, glow in the dark pool relays, glow in the dark bubbles, feeding ants colored sugar, post it notes with nice things said about dad and put in a heart shape on his mirror, hikes, waterparks, spa days, service fun, a wii tournament with prizes and more.

Recipe #1, sour jolly ranch suckers. A hit!
My husband is so fun!

Another thing in the box was a glass with dry erase markers. The kids had fun making each other cute. We did this early so there is some crazy morning hair.

My sons art... We are so sad my girl died during this activity. Who knew it would be so dangerous!

Volleyball Treat Bag

Volleyball team treat bags for the last game! My team named themselves Dynamite this year so they got a "dynamite" bag. I put in a drink, pop-rock candy with the warning lable below attached and Rolo candy wrapped with paper and ribbon like a dynamite stick. (a close up of the dynamite stick can be found under scouts- mission impossible).
