Activity Day Modesty

I am having so much fun planning activity days for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It reminds me of the fun I had with cub scouts! This activity was teaching the girls modesty. The other leader took the first 25 minutes and gave an overview of modesty. Then I took rest of the time with playing :) my favorite!

This week is mormon prom for our youth. I have a 17 year old that has had an awful time finding something modest to wear. I briefly told the girls the shopping horror story and then told the girls they got to design a beautiful, modest prom dress my daughter could wear. Their supplies included: plastic table cloths, tissue paper, streamers and flowers, stapler and tape.
We had 2 groups and the girls got to work designing.
Making high heel cupcakes for a treat.
There was lots of giggles from the girls that made it even more fun.

Beach Bridle Shower

I hosted a bridle shower for a friend. She wanted a beach theme which I love since my favorite warm day activity is visiting the beach. We did brunch. I decided to make a canoe for a river themed bridle shower I am doing in August. I liked it so well that I decided it could double as a sail boat too. The mast can be removed to make it a regular canoe again.

I filled the sailboat with muffins. The sand is ground up shortbread cookies.

After eating we only did one activity since I am not generally a fan. The brides sister wrote a story about how the bride and fiancée met and got engaged. She added as many rights and lefts as she could and we passed a prize in that direction. When the story ended the person holding the prize got to keep it.

Halloween Gift

Dropping off halloween cookies for a family to decorate. Their dad was in a bicycle accident but ok, thank goodness! Love that you can use halloween for all kinds of fun!

Face painting

The girls love doing anything crafty and fun...so how about face painting! It comes off their American Girl Dolls so easy, just a baby wipe. Hours of fun and faces to match outfits and games!

Huge Bubbles

Bubbles? Yes, please! These were fun and messy! Some of these bubbles got up to 3 yards long! We used the cornstarch receipe all over pinterest. It took a few times to get the hang of it.

Shabby Chic Wedding Decor

2 of my sisters are getting married 2 weeks apart! Luckily they both like shabby chic, and so do I! I have been having fun making stuff for their happy day.
This is a 4.5 feet tall chain link fence frame. All made from up cycled stuff. I had left over chain link from when we did our dog run. The frame is old fencing my awesome brother in law saved for me because he knew I would like it. The hinges came from our gate when we replaced the hinges a couple months ago. I used L brackets to make the frame and I used upholstery staples to attach the fence.
This is also big, mayby 3.5 feet. Chalkboard easle made with that same great fencing!
